Yesterday, Sunday morning, my homie and I arranged a meeting at a local restaurant along with some friends of his that night. I don't really know much about said friends other than the fact that they're a ******* couple. For some reason he told me to behave properly towards them, not sure why he had to specify.



So, once my homie and I walked inside, the two girls were already seated. We talked a bit, they talked a bit, we laughed a bit, they laughed a bit. All in all, it was going pretty smooth and I made a pretty solid impression to them which made me pretty happy since I'm not experienced on the social department. I just had to drop that one line...



While they were talking about their whole dating experience as a ******* couple in a conservative country, they seemed pretty frustrated (reasonably, ofc) so I decided to calm them down a little with a joke: "I guess the world really can't handle yuri that good". I laughed, but the gang didn't.



That one simple harmless comment ruined my night. My homie covered the right side of his face with his palm, to express his second hand embarrassment to everyone. The two girls pretended they didn't hear anything; one of them looking up at the ceiling, the other one looking away and happily stating that the music here is so good, as an attempt to change the topic. That moment alone was so embarrassing I refused to open my mouth for the rest of the night. Didn't even tell them goodbye when they left, that's how embarrassed I was.



As of today, the two girls haven't responded to my apology I sent them on Insta. They haven't even seen it and it's been twelve hours. Have I screwed up? I thought lesbians like yuri!
