I've been working as a landlord for the past 34 years and never have I ever seen such thing in my life before.
It was a Friday morning, a few days ago, and this tenant of mine has been renting one of my apartments for a few months now. She's a first year student in a local university. Even though she's a pretty sweet girl, she tends to be late on rent quite often and as someone whose anger issues can get sky high on certain occurrences, like this one rn, I tend to take such matters personally.
And so, the moment she tells me with tears in her eyes that she still doesn't have the money for the last three rents she owes, I lost it. I started yelling at her, she was begging me to give her another chance, but her yelling didn't go through me. And thus, after losing all of my patience I tell her with a cold heart that she has to go. And so the day after she packed her stuff, handed over my keys and I never saw her again.
Since then, I've been getting constant calls and text messages from her family members threatening to sue me for evicting her and a whole lot of other demands. Personally, I don't feel like I've done anything bad, it's just my job. Has any other landlord had to deal with similar occurrences? Have tenants always been this sensitive?
