Why BP (and all amateur sandbox sites) sucks.

I've been involved in the greater brick-building community for 5 years and I've realized a while ago that these sites have provided me with nothing since I joined. Unlike ACTUAL sandbox games (eg. Roblox, Minecraft), where they actually prioritize the "sandbox" aspect of their site, all these amateur sites do is prioritize users wasting their lives on the forums until they shut down.
Plus, none of these sites seem to be any different from each other. Inactive, broken client; catalog with low res items based off Roblox; forums overrun by trolls and crapposts. It's all the same. None these sites have ever had anything that made one a truly separate entity from the other, and communities are always just those migrating to one site after their other site shut down.
And you can see this clearly happening right now on Brickplanet! The client is the old, buggy client from 2018 (they announced a new one at the end of the year, but do you really think this site is lasting that long?); the catalog is just items recycled from old BP; avatars are the same as 2018 (so much for those new avatars that were announced); the only way to purchase membership is through crypto, meaning your purchases are non-refundable. You can clearly see this website boutta shut down, and frankly, I don't wanna stick around to see it for the millionth time.
I've been involved with these sites for the past 5 years, and I'm done with all of it. I have made some friends who I will prolly remain in contact with, but other than that, I wanna distance myself from this community so I can focus on my real life as I start college next year.
Imma go largely inactive when my Astro expires. Peace ✌️

I can tell you right now that the design alone took longer than a month, give or take.
