I know I usually pop in on more technical matters, but due to the recent events surrounding a statement by Isaac, I figured it'd be best to have a bit more of a civil discussion.
First, let's be honest.
There is good reason to be upset over the mistake made in these two most recent blog posts.
However, there are a few things to consider moving forward.
The funny thing is, Isaac is actually making the best decision on moving forward with upgrading the 2018 client.
That's what I wanted to suggest to begin with when I saw that the game was returning.
Throwing existing technology out in favor of a prototype, just doesn't work.
Expecting anything more should come with time.
Now, of course like everyone else I was happy and excited to hear that they wanted to create a better workshop and platform, but that's honestly unrealistic with how small the team is.
The new workshop should've been developed ALONGSIDE the older client.
Give the people something to work on and move towards a more modern standard behind the scenes.
Only reveal your plans for a new client once you are positive it is going to release.
Now I don't think there's any excuse for the initial blog post made on pivoting to new era.
There had to be some... miscalculations in that one...
But what I think is needed to prevent that is a PR team.
I can help set that up if you need Isaac.
Criticism is important.
Brick planet needs that more than ever.
I know you guys are scared, and want to get up in arms, but just hear me out.
There are REAL solutions here.
